Being a customer, what I want from my telecom operator is "Quality" with "Economy" and NOTHING else... yes believe me "NOTHING ELSE".

Unfortunately, here in Pakistan every single telecom operator is not following the regulations "strictly" what we call it.

Every one (talking about TC Operators) is very much concerned about the number of connections they have saled and the depict their rapid growth by propagating their turn overs in recent past in terms of number of mobile users they have got. See what Mobilink is doing? I have recently come to know that they have crossed the 30 million mark...where they stand "quality of service" wise? Unfortunately, it is true that they are not following the regulations provided to them for operations, by PTA.

When you call it "signing a deal", first you shall be able to improve your own services before pointing out and filing a complaint against some body else.

I appreciate it. I was able to find this info on my own also as well. Acctually I was hoping that a detailed report with many other KPIs listed would be available such as drop calls, access failures, blocking, data throughput etc.

I aggree that the state of networks in Pakistan is not the best and needs to be improved upon.

Regards,
Asim

Asim - This is the link which I had listed:

Below is the complete text:
---------------------------------
Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced the results of recently conducted Wireless Local Loop (WLL) operators Quality of Service (QoS) survey conducted in eight major cities across the country. The implementation of limited mobility by WLL operators was aslo checked.

The QoS Survey was conducted in 8 major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad and Hyderabad to gauge the quality of WLL service. The Limited Mobility aspect of WLL service was also surveyed as per PTAâ??s Determination on Limited Mobility. The survey commenced from September 15-25, 2006 by all PTA Zonal Offices, simultaneously.

The operators checked include PTCL-V, Telecard (Go CDMA), Great Bear and World Call. Survey was conducted within the network of the operators and with other networks that included PTCL, Mobile Operators and all other WLL.

Results of service accessibility within network show that M/s.V PTCL was 98.33%, M/s.Telecard (Go CDMA) was 74.52, M/s.World Call was 87.08% and M/s.Dialog (Great Bear) was 90.00%. Similarly, with other networks M/s.V PTCL showed 87.92% results while M/s.Telecard (Go CDMA) was 81.14%, M/s.World Call was 82.12 and M/s.Dialog (Great Bear) was 96.00.

V PTCL is operational in 8 cities which are Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Karachi, Hyderabad, Peshawar and Quetta. Telecard (Go CDMA) operational in 7 cities including Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Karachi, Hyderabad, Peshawar and Quetta. World Call operational in 4 cities which are Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and Peshawar. Dialog (Great Bear) operational in only Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

It was also observed in the survey that WLL operators are not strictly following the determination on limited mobility. Therefore, they have been asked to take immediate action to implement the same and submit a compliance report to PTA by 15 December 2006.
