New Alliance: Ufone and Telenor to Share Infrastructure Facilities

Ufone and Telenor Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on facilitating both operators to share their infrastructure (sites/towers) for 10 years with mutual consent. The MoU is the first of its kind between the two leading mobile phone operators in Pakistan.
This is a welcome initiative for the industry, as it will help reduce costs of companies in developing separate sites for their networks. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ufone Chief Executive Officer Mubashir Naqvi said: “It is a breaking news in the telecom sector of Pakistan since the infrastructure was the main hitch for all the operators to mark their footprints all over the country.
