Well I have to say that I am very impressed and very concerned. Impressed because the infrastructure in PK has gone to 17 cities very rapidly. However my guess is that it would be really concentrated in major cities such as Lahores and Karachi first. Anway it is very good for us and very good for people of pakistan.

I am concerned because WiMax is a new standard, there are still rafts going on about standards in Europe, and there are major concerns about health and saftey, although pakistan is taking the lead in deployment, is it possible that Motorola really needed scape goat for testing. I am guessing that wateen has major financial back from motorola to deploy the infrastructure in pakistan and do the testing in a place where there won't be many eyebrows raised.

Having said that, I do think that mobile, 3G, HSPDA and WiMax are the way to go in next 5 years.

This makes me more excited about my trip to Pakistan this winter. I am returning after two years and already so much had happened. I am curious to find out the price range for WiMAX Broadband. So far in America Sprint promised to use WiMAX under the Brand name of Xohm, which will only deploy in few cities with limited coverage next year. I am happy to see Pakistan beat America to it... ^_^...You guys are doing a great job on keeping up with technology news in Pakistan. Keep up the good work.
