Telenor Pakistan Q3 2007 - Solid Performance
Telenor has announced solid results for third quarter 2007. See details at Telenor’s corporate site. Telenor’s stock is up since the earning announcement.
Telenor subscribers in Pakistan reached to 12.58 million - however the rate of growt slowed a bit. As presented in my previous coverage, Telenor has been successfully working to build its reputation and subscriber base. When you look at the performance and subscriber numbers note the very high percentage of prepaid customers. This is true for all operators in Pakistan and a common phenomenon present in the emerging market telecom which pulls the ARPU down. The next challenge for operators such as Telenor is to bump up the ARPU. By introducing a wide range of value-added services such as comics, mobile tv and convenient picture uploading they are already on track for this. Next year results will show the uptake on these services.

The trick to be successful in emerging markets is to grasp as many consumer base in the inital stages as possible and Telenor I’m glad believes in the same fact, which is a fact by all means. The stable marketing policies, crisp advertising startegy and most importantly continus product innovation and open to suggestions and building the business on them makes them outstanding and “natural look”. Telenor is the “Risk Leader”, very few new players have the gutts to try out things at such an early stage. Ufone is the “Risk Competitor” and Mobilink is the “Pet Follower” following both with zero risk involvement, which is very bad for the long run.

would u plz send me any report concerning SWOT analysis…. i think ufone is also providing very efficent service which can be comparable with other network service providers such like mobilink and telenor…..
