Wateen Billing Issue: Charging Line Rent Against Its Promise?

I very clearly remember their sales representative (wateen’s, not franchise) hammering it on my head that, I would only be charged Rs. 1350/- Per Month for a 512KB /10GB cap package. And for that I was required to give 11 months post-dated cheques and first month in advance with equipment cost. Now, if you look at exhibit A, they have managed to bring out Rs. 891.50 worth of charges, i’m liable to pay.
Its the 3rd billing month and this is the first bill i’m receiving. What’s interesting to note is the line rent for telephone service, their IVR hold music also very clearly announces “telephony services for ZERO line rent!”
I was not yet satisfied with their falsified claims by Wateen’s support staff about why they are charging me Rs. 1350 and every billboard out their announcing that I should be paying Rs. 799/- for the same. Now, they have sent me unjustified bill.
What you guys think about Wateen’s policies? Do we, consumer have any say in this? What we, as consumers can do about it?

Same has been happening with me.
First they sent a list of over usage for 11 months which we paid .
This time i kept a record of all my browsing through usage meter. Wateen’s browsing meter showed 3.1GB used .I still have 2 more GBs left but my balance has gone to negative for extra usage :|
There is a need of real time campaign against wateen.

i m agree of all guys. they are right bec. wateen have not a probelm in speed rather it has probelm in billing. if any guys payed cheqe then see their Bank statement. bec. wateen have no records of your mony. wateen is a bullshit in pakistan.
These wateen people have no sense at all . What they are trying to do is rip peoples pants off. Why ar’nt they charging for a montly bill and there is no way you can check ur Gb’s and telephone calls . And now they are asking 15000 rupees from me. My limit was 4 Gb . They should have Dc my services. its still working . To hell with such a telecom company. Unprofessionalism

i thought i was the only one who was in this delima…
onw fine day, i could’nt acces my account in wateen, icalled them and found out that i had used 25 GB of excess downloading and they slapped a Rs 13,000 bill in my face.. No wonder they are charging so low for the services…now i know what the catch is..
wateen turned out to be just another money hogging con like every other company in Pakistan
Nothing wrong with wateen….???? Can any sane person tell me how you could upload 10GB of data (upload not download) in just 2-3 months time when you are not managing any huge data centers but only few static websites of 500kb size approx each.
This is what they have told me when they sent my usage log. i ve already challenged that but they have not replied me as yet how is it possible.
there is no any issue with me from wateen i m using the sevice.
the issue is with the people of pakistan
wateen is recommended (no mobilty)but customer in moving with his device.
also there is no any issue with bill.
wateen was offer in 1350 10GB d lod VOL.
but if customer exceed his data limit then he will charge 100mb@50 rupee.
so my friend there is no any problem with wateen.
and if you have signal problem then you can get out door device of wateen.
also if you have any problem then you can call 24/7 on help line.
so there is no any issue with wateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen.

i m the user of wateen for the last 4 months …….but i m not satisfy …….due to thier poor speed ……. week signals……….. shared channal………..some time work some time not…….
and also it not working in cloudy weather……………
i m going to refund this stupid CPE……….

The wateen’s packages don’t seem very feasible as compared to their services being offered…We have to pay approximately 10,000 as misc. fees (some being claimed as refundable) and then we get 4 gb or 10 gb volume based internet.
It’s much feasible to get a DSL connection instead with unlimited downloads and similar monthly fee with no security stuff.
@ Tirmizi: I’m also a victim to LINK DOT NET. I paid them in January 2008, haven’t heard from emm so far :)

I have been using Wateen’s internet service from the last 3-4 months at home and it seems to be working great. The service was down only for 2-3 days in this whole period and that too, was solved in hours.
I chose to signed up with them for the package, which said to have everything included in Rs.1350 (line rent, internet usage etc). I never used their telephony services and now suddenly I get this stupid bill, about which I don’t understand what should I do?
I tried to call with their customer support but they were busy. I am not going to pay the bill, but what should we do in that regard?
I can’t switch to any other DSL as in our areas no one offers except PTCL and when I tried PTCL DSL, it was a nightmare. I am still stuck in a bill and my refund is pending. I have to go every month to fix my bill for their stupid arrears. I am also going to complain about this at PTA, inshAllah.
OK about the extra usage. If you have exceeded the 10gb anyway, they have no right to charge you. I am using wateen 512k/10gb since 26 december. My bill is 5026RS with extrat usage of 10 gb. I always called their helpline to confirm my usage but they failed to provide me any information about it. they always say that ” we are creating a portal for the customers so that you can check your status from their”. Now they are telling us to pay for extra usage??? i did everything from my side to get the information about my usage. It is their responsibilty to tell me what my staus is. They are Recording data on the back hand and not telling customers at the customer end. WHAT THE *#$% IS THIS?
I am not paying any bill. I will sue them if i have to.
I got my Wateen in Jan08. For first four months, no bill was sent. Suddenly today i ve got the bill for April with over usage of 11GB and extra amount of Rs. 6500. I have got the package of 10GB already and dont do heavy downloads. I dont know what to do?
Billing as always been a cause of confussion for the customer and on the contrary to the popular belief “a small source of income generator” for the Telecome Operators.
Can’t say anything about wateen however, as I was part of the Telecom Sector for more then 6 years I can say that bills usually confuse the customer and they start thinking that the company is ripping them off. Though, at times its not true its just that the billing is made so confusing all the different heads and differnet line rents, advance tax, unbilled artime , blaaa blaa blaa …
And on very rare occasion there are some machine mistakes too …. I have been using a Mobilink Post Paid Connection and never was sure about there billing always was complaining and then I Joined Mobilink and came to know about the various calculations and there wasn’t any ambuigity…
As I always have tons of experiences to share…. the so called ” LINK DOT NET ” well I applied for link dot net back in march,08 and they failed to install the connection @ my office in F-7 Markaz within 10 business days. and then I asked them to stop I don’t need there services and to give me refund …
Since March,08 to date I am waiting for the ‘ REFUND” I have called them several times but this seems to be the last of there concern.
Suppose to be the BEST …. Judge for yourself
