Talk about getting attention … Zong has come up with another interesting promotion …. you get a phone, almost free but with a year’s payment in advance. This is equivalent to the US model where customers have to sign a contract to get a discounted phone. In Zong’s case they just get the money in advance (great for them) and hope that users will stay with them after 12 months. This ad leads to a few questions: will Zong give this to anyone who walks in? The ad mentions limited quantities …how many of these phones are there? I am interested in hearing your stories about this offer.

zong has many expectionz in pakistan 4 its marketing but unfortunately due 2 bed staff they r nt able 2 achv da same heights i hv seen these cases in quetta jinnah road frenchis MR TALHA AND ONE GIRL I DONT NW HIS NAME they hv sch a bed behvr with da people,,dat iz against da dignity and respect of peoplz big compny can do ths knd of behvr but zong staff of quetta bcmz da lodz of zong i hv seen with my eyz if u wana proof i can gv u with da peoplz who has seen ths

I went to Zong main Jinnah road office three days back to get my laptop configured with my cel phone so tht I can browse internet while on the move…I must appreciate the way Quetta zong staff entertained me even after closing time and answered every query of mine…I left Warid because of pathetic customer services they give such rude staff they have in Quetta.

Hi, I am surprised that many shopkeepers hae booked the numbers in zong and they r sending messages to the related numbers in Jazz, U fone etc and asking their own prices for the Zong SIM, Is it the right way to do ? Where as I checked my Number but I t was booked and after few days a shopkeeper (Easy Load Holder) he called me and offered me the same number …… ! Its look and price is sweet. But we use different sims in our hilly areas of Pakistan where there zong is not working properly and the other companies installed their tower. So the number of zong is better but the set limitation is not good for customer instead of company. Please try to buy open Mobile where u can set a different type of sims when u required

I have paid 4 visits to your newly established sale point at Pleader’s Lane Attock to purchase this package ie molie phone , sim etc. But could not succeed to purchse the package because of the inefficiency and carefree attitude of ur staff. The result of my four visits , each visit consisting of at least one hour , are as follows:
1. First Visit — Aug. 19,2008 at 6.00PM ——— Mr. Asif told me asked me to select my favourite number out of the list. I selected a number. He asked to come next day.
2. Second Visist—Aug.20, 2008——at 6.00Pm—Mr.Asif told me that he was very busy with other customers and would not me able to attend me till the closing time. So he asked me to come next morning
3. Third Visist — Aug.21,2008 at 11.00AM——– He told me that my number could not be activated due to some reasons so I shall visit the office in the evening
4. Fourth Visits—–Aug.21,2008 at 6PM—- He told me that according to his record , I never booked a number / sim so he asked me to select a new number and visit the office next day .

Well its a smart offer. U can call 2other networks also by using ur own loaded balanc.
The hurdle that no other sim than Zong can be used, bcoz this packag is offered by Zong. 4instanc if it could happen, than wat benefit would be 2 Zong.

Limitation for zong to zong is just the hurdle to the popularity of this package
I think its a good initiative. We have similar offers here in Australia. Mobile sets are practically free when you subscribe any package for 12-24 months.
Recently Vodafone started giving away mobiles phones on pre-paid too. This strategy works pretty well in developed countries.
Lets see how Pakistan’s market react to this.
hand set is beautiful and slim. RS 2K is justified only by handset. best officer for new mobile users.
THis handset is totally waste of money , sms and phone storage is very less , its better to buy any other mobile set dont waste ur money in the greed of the airtime .

well i think it depend on set how it looks like in quality and in character. but the restriction of only using of zong sim is a problum bt still i think its a good pakage of zong user not for other. and one more thing this is totaly copy of UFO

Being an ex-employee of Zong I can answer all of your queries regarding Zong hand sets. Well,
1- Currently 5, 00, 000 sets are manufactured and are provided on test basis. if the service really work more sets will be thrown in market. but manufactured sets are for any one on First Come First Served Basis.
2- Sets quality is very good. These are not Chinese sets basically. The sets are originally manuactured by vodafone, Zong only changed the name
3- Yes, the set works only with Zong sim. Set also supports all VAS of Zong
4- The cheaper call rate is only for Zong to zong. to call Other Mobile Operators (OMO), you will have to get extra balance by either loading a card or mini load and so on.

Today I visited Zong franchise in Liberty Lahore.
This offer has 2 limitations.
a) The monthly provided 140Rs balance can only be used to call Zong numbers.
b) You can only use Zong sim in this mobile. Even after 12 months of contract.
I was willing to buy this offer, but due to these limitations, I only took a separate Sim for 150Rs. And they forced me to buy a 300Rs card with it aswell.
Dude i think this is a gr8 offer……
Are they really only offering zong to zong only? And will users be able to switch to other network after one year? I asked this bcz I remember Ufone launched similar bundle offer some time ago and I read that “the phone will only work with Ufone.”
