Hello, Muhammad.

This certainly should not happen with the Localphone Direct Dial service, and if it does you should contact us immediately and we will investigate and refund you for the unconnected calls.

We are a young company, but we are certainly not immature. We have a very talented team of Developers and Engineers here at Localphone, you can contact us at any time through the website contact and fault reports pages, and unlike many other calling card companies we also have phone support.

Please get in touch so we can sort out your problem.

I have used localphone service. In start I was very happy, but after few days I realised that it is charging very wrongly. And costing me more than normal usage. See how they charge, suppose u call any number in any country and u got no answer , means otherside is ringing and ringing. they will charge you for the time you waited for pickup. Similarly if you call on mobile and if it is switched off, then ofcourse you would receive a message from telephone company that your number is not responding at the moment. They will charge you for that also. Now if you dial a wrong number simply any no of 4 of 5 digits , which has no meaning, every one can see and say it is wrong no, but see what they do , i call to a no something like 594332, they charge me 90 cents

What i conclude is that there system is immature and they have no support to listen to your complains.

Never use this company...

A note from Localphone:
"As of the 1st of September 2008 the Pakistan government in co-operation with the LDI's (Long Distance Operators) in Pakistan have again pushed up the price of the wholesale rate. Back in May they set this at 10 US cents which was
shared between the LDI and the Pakistani government. LDI's have used some of their share of the $0.10 to discount calls below this level due to market forces and this is why we where able to reduce rates earlier during the year".

This has resulted in 0.9c/minute increase.

No doubt above mentioned mapping has its own convinience but did you guys try betamax? They have many small companies and I found their rates are cheapest so far unless if someone here knows any better deals. Their rates are avaerage 3 to 4 euro cents to call Pakistan in addition to free minutes to many countries. They support SIP and user simply get convinience of an ordinary phone.

Tee Emm, thanks for the comment. The convenience is unrivalled and I use this service to call Dubai as well. It used to be a pain to find good rates for UAE because of Etisalat's high termination rates.

The localphone technology is aimed at ease of convinience. By mapping the local numbers to remote locations numbers in one direction using standard backend voip technologies, the service takes out the computer and IT part of the voip world and puts the end users at the same convinience level of using standard phone (and hopefully very affordable local charges) to use the long distance service (at attractive per min charges) to a fixed number at your other 'remote' home.

The singular, one-way mapping is what enables companies like localphone to offer this service at a very attractive prices as they can map a high volume of users whose probability of using the service 'fairly' would automatically be very high. You can't bug your mom/dad/wife every minute and you can't let your buddy piggyback this service (as is common in unlimited plans to unlimited numbers) to a third person.
