Telenor Plans Expansion To Rural Areas. Partners With PTCL For Skylink Satellite Services
Telenor has signed an agreement with PTCL to enable backhaul of GSM traffic via satellite technology branded by PTCL as Skylink. Telenor is the fastest growing mobile phone company in 2008 and from this news it is clear that they want to go after the rural areas as well. Perhaps Telenor’s experience in Bangladesh has given the company confidence and experience of working with rural demographics. Along with this technology, may we also suggest more appropriate and down-to-earth advertising themes from Telenor for rural areas?

The Skylink PTCL’s state of the art satellite communication service is based on standard C-Band satellite frequency, preferred for carrier grade service on account of superior physical characteristics such as low rain fades and atmosphere attenuation.
