Blackberry Storm – First Blackberry With Touch Screen

The first Blackberry with a touch screen, Storm, went on sale in USA  on Friday and has been a raging success so far. I am not sure when will it be officially offered (it will be a race between Ufone, Warid and Mobilink) in Pakistan but I am certain that it will be there in first half of 2009. I have been following the progress of new Blackberry phones and can tell you that the increased competition among smart phone makers is a great thing for consumers. Sometimes it results in software which causes these devices to freeze and crash but usually after a few rounds of patches, things get better.

The reviewer does a good job by comparing the Storm with HTC touch HD (called Fuse in US), Blackberry Bold and Sony Xperia.  The Storm gets great scores on its user interface, usability, touch screen and ease of typing. There has been a month long advertising campaign to build up the public interest in this latest and worthy iPhone contender. Based on my limited testing and what I have read in the reviews, Storm is one of the most impressive phones available today for business/corporate users …. and of course crackberry addicts!
