PTCL Makes The Right Move: Double Bandwidth, Same Price
The news was circulating for a while that PTCL will increase bandwidth for its customers. It was announced on March 23 that the bandwidth has been doubled. It was a good move by PTCL and goes to show that it is a formidable challenge to compete against an incumbent. The rates start at Rs. 1199 for 1 MB unlimited (still higher than the ideal of Rs. 500-600 affordability threshold) and go up to Rs. 4999 for 4 MB unlimited.
PTCL management is pleased to announce the following tariff for broadband internet facilities for its valued customers, with effect from March 23rd 2009. The existing package of 512Kbps will not be offered to new customers. Existing 512Kbps packages customers will be upgraded to 1MB package, 1MB to 2MB and customers of 2MB will be upgraded to 4MB.

It’s really great to know that even a country like pakistan has vastly superior broadband plans than new zealand :(. The only kind of unlimited bandwidth plan we have here is so heavily throttled that its actually slower than dial up at times.

Well done :) Carry on PTCL, hope to see these packages double again…
dear i am upgraded to 2mb but i am getting still 1 mb plz help.ihave been told by 1236 that my connection is upped to 2mb but still they need time till 30 april
I believe now its time to offer 256k for Rs 300 and 512k for Rs 600 so that people who ware still using dial up can use broadband and use the internet for some good purpose instead of doing something else…
This is a great move, if somebody from PTCL reading this, he/she must concentrate that selling PTCL land line connection is not a problem for PTCL, everyday PTCL receives thousands of applications regarding new connections, but what is their delivery rate, very few people get their connection installed, actual problem lies with exchanges, actual problem lies with person heading the exchange he is the king, actual problem lies with lineman whenever you bribe them they’ll install a connection and leave without a word, if their salaries are not good pay them good amount of money so that the can bring good revenue in return. They don’t need any marketing, they don’t need any campaigns, the only thing they need is good and positive attitude, PTCL was a national symbol, but now it is losing its value.
Auslam o Alikum,
hw r u all? its really good move by PTCL for giving us double brondband speed. I appreciate PTCL for that achievement and for giving Brondband like as. Just one complain I have from PTCL and one question
Complain:
I have past related speed 512kb Brondband. But during using last 1 year, I analysis that when I have complain that time your relative staff from Exchange and Complaining agent not cooperated. When problem come then they just promise a lot that problem will solve next day but that’s promise only a promise like as liars.
I analysis that Complaining Agents and Exchange Staff not have good contacts and having a communications gaps. Because Complaining Agent promise but he nothing doing only a promise. He is not responsible I think for forcing Exchange Staff for solving problems.
Question:
Brondband speed as equally as announced speed?
Take care u all
Allah Hafiz
I have applied for PTCL Broadband Connection before 1 month but till now they didn’t contact with me and give no response.
So can anybody tell me how much time required to setup a Broadband connection by PTCL?
They gave me 10 days for my order………
Ptcl Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the Best to ptcl management
Those who are already PTCL contract like in jhelum its great news for them,i think we have only PTCL perfect speed available in jhelum as we have all digital exchanges. But other services seems absent from here.
its great news for me.No doubt PTCL coverage is high so in business it would be ahead of all others.
By the way its good move.Competition makes life easy with quality improvemets and Cost reductions.
Great move.
Definately a good move, which i think surely must be appreciated its because it was the need of time
Anyhow, they just want monopoly and thats what they are doing
No. Zong is responsible for this. I just know it.
I live in a relatively developed area in Lahore (right outside Defence). Although this is really good news of doubling of bandwidth, PTCL actually refused to put DSL in my place since they said that the signals there are too weak (since we’re far from the exchange). When I said the others are still providing the service in my area they had a good reply…we like to adhere to high standards. Good point. They don’t want to provide the service where the signals are weak due to the infrastructure. And who is responsible for high standards of the infrastructure….PTCL! =)
Answer: Becasue in the view of the above context PTCL has two girls in their ad. Notice the geomatircal curves at point A and at point C. The parabola and hyperbola respectively. When those both points move they create a projectile motion which attracts public hence creating more news.

why ptcl has made news everywhere when brain has been offering the same package for quite sometime and link.net has also moved to this package.
That;s a smart move.
