Not surprised at all. Wateen is one of the worst companies to do business with. Not having the authentic software is the least of the wrongs the company has done.

strange. as at the microsoft windows 7 launch , the Microsoft ppl as well as the CEO of Warid Telecom said they r in some kind of deal but still they using pirated windows ..that’s sad !!!

Thanks for sharing the Warid story Rafaeel. Another point to note over here is that these kiosks are supported by Ministry of IT. They should look in it. If we restrict the use of pirated softwares at upper level then only we can think to eliminate piracy from lower level.

If WATEEN would have bought the corporate version, this error would not have come because corporate serials are for large organizations with multiple systems.

When i worked in WARID back in 2005, a similar case was filed against WARID for using pirated softwares after which they started buying original versions of all softwares. Don’t know about Wateen and current situation of Warid.

Its not their fault. I have a legitimate copy as well and I suffer from this. Most likely somebody stole or duplicated the serial key

This shows that how much we are used to of using pirated software… this is all because people are not fully aware of the benefits of using opensource Operating systems… but here we have a big multinational with such a blunder… i just can’t express my feelings that how bad it looked on an airport where we have frequent visitors of foreign nationalities…..
