Warid – What's Up?

We have been hearing about Warid’s merger/stake sold-out recently. But with every such news, no matter if its been quoted by local and international newspapers, Warid has officially denied it. On the other hand I have observed not significant but a little less boost in its marketing practice.
With Reema continuing as the Brand Ambassador, they have also roped in Atif Aslam, who could be their boy for the glow package.
They also pushed for their TVCs and press adverts, which were absent from scene from quite some time. The first that came was the MNP port-in and along with it was refer to friend and family member to port-in to Warid (giving away rewards to the refree).
The latest came in “Warid Minute Package” for the prepaid. The offer gives a minute rate of Rs. 1.20/min on any mobile network and landline number in Pakistan during (11.00 PM – 4.59 PM). You can also add two Friends & Family numbers of your choice (one Off-Net & one On-Net) on which you can enjoy calls at flat rate of Rs. 1/min. Details here.
The TVC featuring Reema (shown below) is beautifully done, although it does not mention about the timings along with the charges. Nevertheless, after a long time it shows the same zest Warid’s TVC had at the time of their launch in Pakistan.
Marketing efforts are always to create value for customers. Coming back on it after a break is welcomd. Is Warid creating brand value before finally accepting on the rumored news?
What’s up, only time will tell.
