Local Web Content: Mobile Operators Sign MOUs, Telenor has an Urdu Website

In recent PTA conference to promote 3G technology, apart from discussion on its impact on business and consumers, all the mobile operators also signed and MOUs to boost localized applications, content and services.

The first step towards local content from Mobile Operators is to have an Urdu version for their websites. This will greatly help consumers looking for information about services and product in local language.

I remember easypaisa’s website having an urdu version, but as I visit it today it is no longer found. While checking for Urdu website’s for mobile operators it is found that Telenor does have an Urdu version of their website.

This initiative from Telenor deserves appreciation but it lacks regular updates for the website and its publicity to the masses.

Let’s hope Telenor will update the website and other operators will follow the trend.
