Grey Traffic: Government Loses Millions – GEO TV Report

We do hear of illegal exchanges/gateways being raided and shutdown but the problem of grey traffic is long standing. Kamran Khan from Geo TV discussed the issue at length in his yesterday’s program.

Commenting on the scenario Mr. Wahaj us Siraj, CEO Nayatel expressed around that around 550 million mins/month is the incoming voice traffic received in Pakistan while another Communication Expert Mr. Baqai Noor ud Din says about 15-20% traffic comes through grey routes.

While Dr. Yasin, Chairman PTA, said that the equipment installed with PTA in 2008-09 to trace the incoming traffic is now not sufficient as the traffic has increased manifold.

Further details of the report can be watched in this excerpt of Ajj Kamran Khan Kay Saath (21.03.2011).
