Top 3 Free Android To-Do List Apps

One of the reasons I like Android OS over all other current Mobile Operating Systems is the availability of many free time management and productivity applications. Let’s review the top 3 free android To-Do List applications available in the Android Market

Astrid Task/Todo List

Astrid is to-do list app featuring:

  • Reminders
  • Widget
  • Sync with Google tasks
  • Tags
  • Custom Filters

The availability of a widget and tags thrust this app to one of the most downloaded productivity apps in the market, it Syncs seamlessly with Google Tasks so that your tasks remain intact of you change your phone or make a Hard Reset.

Taskos To Do List

This is another free to-do list application which simplifies the process of creating and managing to-do lists. It allows you to add, edit and delete tasks, you can add alerts and even make call using this productivity application. Here are the key features:

  • Speech to text
  • Sync to Google Tasks
  • Choose from 2 widgets
  • Quick edit of tasks (Priority, Category / Tag, Due date, Share and more)
  • Swipe to mark as complete
  • Customized categories
  • Alerts
  • Notes
  • Repeatable tasks
  • Share your tasks with your Facebook friends, Gmail contacts, Dropbox, Twitter followers, whatsapp or beluga friends

The features that make this app stand out from the rest are sharing of tasks with friends and swiping to mark tasks complete.

To Do List Plus

To Do List Plus by GingerPenguin is my favorite productivity app in Android. The application is intuitive, easy to use and you can manage tasks at work and home separately, you can even manage your shopping lists and jot down a few points you want to remember using the jotter. It features:

  • A to do list for you
  • A to do list for you @Work
  • A to do list for your wishes
  • A to do list for your groceries
  • A Notepad

This is the best app in my point of view as it provides two widgets separately for Work and other than work commitments.

Do you like another app??  Feel free to drop in a word and tell us why do you like it.

  1. Fred says:

I used the To Do List notepad to keep track of mileage and expenses. Does anyone know what file on the SD card this info is stored in? Also, what program will read the file? The app had to be reloaded and it is no longer available for my Droid, so I’ve lost almost a year’s worth of expenses reimbursement info!

    Thanks for the help!
