3G EVO Tab Launched on Independence Day
Update: The device has been manufactured by an Indonesian manufacturer,Ivio with the code name IVIO Twilight 7.
PTCL has marked the 64th Independence Day with launch of Pakistan’s first tablet which supports PTCL Evo. The concept of being connected everywhere is little known in Pakistan largely due to the absence of 3G over the cellular networks, but 3G Evo Tab represents a great stride in the telecommunication sector and shows the fact that service providers understand customers’ needs and can launch products which really appeal to the customer.
3G Evo Tab is only the second device launched officially in Pakistan which supports PTCL Evo (first device was launched by Ufone). Evo Tab is available in two different colors and has been bundled with PTCL Evo internet connection. Three mouth watering offers are as follows:

PTCL is also offering great Post Launch tariffs. After the expiry of initial bundles, internet tariffs will be as follows:
With Evo Tab you can even use your regular GSM Sim and use it as your phone. Salient features of the tablet are listed below:
- Weighs only 429 grams
- Quad Core Processor
- 7” screen WVGA LCD 800 X 480 resolution Capacitive touch screen with multi-touch support
- 512 MB RAM
- Android Froyo
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- A-GPS
- Office viewer and editor
- 3.5mm jack
- 2 sim card slots

——————–DONOT BUY THIS—————-
This device is completely useless. I bought it. it costs me 32K. I cannot do browsing on my PC using tethering. Tried to watch movie on it and it hanged forever. No way to hard reboot or remove battery. No help from help line. They say they do not have training for trouble shooting evo tab. Complete shit.
Thanks for your feedback. Whats the speed of Evo on it?
Havent use it myself, but according to my understanding calls can be made without attaching a handsfree
Like most of the other Tabs, Can you use it for voice calls like a normal phone (with speaker and mic) instead of being dependent on handsfree cable or a bluetooth device?
@Yasir: Seconded
I must say I am impressed…and to those who say this is priced for its class, please do tell about the other cheaper tablets with the same specifications.
This is undoubtedly a great option.
@Aqil:
PTCL cant provide that unless it starts providing its own cellular services or Evo compatible mobiles are launched.
Froyo has not been specifically designed for tabs, but this is a tablet cum phone, and those available with Honeycomb are priced more than double the amount at which EVO Tab is available
nice, but PTCL must provide 3G connections to other smartphones availible in market.
as their Tab has too low specs and froyo is not a n operating system of Tabs.
price does matter but if product and service is good for business use than price becomes secondary.
Update: The device has been manufactured by an Indonesian manufacturer,Ivio(http://www.ivio.com) with the code name IVIO Twilight 7 (http://www.ivio.com/mobile.php?ponsel=MD70).
