First Phase of Telenor Talkshawk I-Champ Concludes
The first phase of ‘Telenor Talkshawk Internet Champion’, Telenor Talksawk’s nationwide knowledge-based initiative has been concluded in Muzaffarabad, AJK. It should be noted that Telenor’s competition engaged around 18,500 students from semi urban areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir while 83 workshops were conducted in 83 government schools.
Names of the 50 students who have proceeded to the finals of this competition was announced at Govt. Boys High School No 2 Plate Muzaffarabad. Phase two of the competition will result in the selection of one student who will visit Opera Mini in Norway.
Minister for Social Welfare & Women Development in AJK, Farzana Yaqoob was the chief guest at the finale. She said:
The project is in line with our commitment to encourage the youth of AJK to utilize the latest technology and make a positive contribution to the society. We are hopeful that the collaboration between Telenor Pakistan and the Government of AJK will serve as a foundation to help empower the digital generation in the region.
Aamir Ibrahim, Chief Marketing Officer, Telenor Pakistan paid tribute to AJK’s IT Board for facilitating Telenor Talkshawk Internet Champions program. He said:
We believe that every child in AJK has the potential to become successful and contribute to the society and the nation; all they need is encouragement and guidance. We appreciate the support extended by the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and hope to take this initiative to all the provinces of Pakistan. On behalf of Telenor Pakistan, I also congratulate the winners of Telenor Talkshawk Internet Champions.
