Future of Interaction Design and User Experience
Not only is the importance of interaction design is increasing daily but also it has a significant role in shaping the upcoming technologies in interacting seamlessly with each other. This is all due to the increase of software applications in many different new industries. Eventually, both the physical and digital worlds will collide. That is when human and technologies would create a whole new range of new behaviors of interacting with the world.
This 18 minute documentary “Connecting” is about the future of Interaction Design and User Experience from some of the industry’s thought leaders.
My Thought’s on Interaction Design
As a technologist, interaction design & user experience has always fascinated me. I see a lot more humans interacting with technologies in the next 6 to 8 years. Although the trends would differ in developed and developing economies. Since developing economies have a lot of other things to worry about, developed economies would have more trend towards interactive tech.
Cloud computing would play a major role in uniting our experiences among different devices i.e. Computers, Tablets & Smartphones. Interaction among devices is a very basic form of interactive technologies. We would see much more evolved forms of interactive tech, such as your room knowing when to turn the lights ON or OFF. Your television being so intelligent that it would learn your choice and act accordingly. Your refrigerator being able to keep track of how much food is left and warning you before you run out of vegetables, fruits or etc. The house security system could be intelligent enough to plan out what to do in case of emergencies. We could see house cleaning robots, small enough to hide under your furniture and come out to clean once everybody has left the home. After Hybrid Cars, Automated Vehicles are also being worked on. You could possibly own a car that could drive you around the city, go for a refuel or park itself.
