Microsoft Chooses Satya Nadella As New Boss
Last year, the 2nd CEO of Microsoft — Steve Ballmer — announced his retirement in order to bring younger blood up, so that Microsoft can continue its innovative spree. At first, there was a long list of around 100+ possible candidates, one of which could be the next CEO of Microsoft. Eventually, that list narrowed down to only three candidates which were: Alan Mulally, Stephen Elop and Satya Nadella. Alan Mulally is the current Chief Executive of Ford. Everyone is well familiar with Stephen Elop, the current boss of Nokia. You might not have heard about him, but Satya Nadella is the senior VP for Microsoft Enterprise & Cloud business.
Recent reports show that Satya Nadella is all set to become the next CEO of Microsoft while Bill Gates will step down as the Chairman and instead take position of a technology adviser at Microsoft. Bill Gates himself thinks that there is no better person with the right background to lead Microsoft into the future. Satya Nadella is responsible for the success of Microsoft Enterprise & Cloud business which is rapidly growing. This could be one of the reasons why the board choose Satya Nadella as the next CEO for Microsoft.
