DeafTawk is a digital platform which is designed to bridge the communication gap between the general public and the deaf community in real-time via a sign language interpreter. They provide online sign language interpretation services, audio-video translation services, and sign language training in Pakistan. Around 1.2 Million of Pakistanis suffer from hearing impairment. The primary objective of DeafTawk is to use technology to make differently abled people a useful part of society. Right now Pakistan has only 95 sign language interpreters out of which only 22 are certified, here we can clearly see the gap which needs to be filled.
Such amazing start-ups are adding value to our community and we must be proud that initiatives like NIC’s 5th Cohort are present in Pakistan to support them. Click here to become part of most prestigious startup incubators of Pakistan.
