EO GSEA Pakistan Finals
The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) were organized by EO Karachi on 12th Jan’ 19, Saturday, where young Pakistani entrepreneurs pitched their ideas to a panel of judges. EO Global is an international influential community of entrepreneurs with an objective to help like-minded peers in order to evolve and grow across the globe. EO is a vast Global community with 181 chapters across 57 countries. It has three chapters in Pakistan (one each in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad).
EO Global is conducting Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) where finalists from 55 countries will compete against each other for the title of Global Champion. The final round took place at IBA City Campus at Aman Tower, where the judges evaluated the products and ideas presented by some of the brightest budding entrepreneurs of Pakistan.
The Pakistan GSEA Committee consisted of Mr. Sheheryar Shah- GSEA Chair (Karachi), Mr. Kashif Shakoor-GSEA Chair (Lahore) and Mr. Shoaib Malik- Global GSEA Committee Member. Presidents of EO Karachi, EO Lahore and EO Islamabad Mr. Rehan Shahid, Mr. Tariq Mehmood and Mr. Walid Mushtaq enthusiastically supported the event.
Following is the list entailing judges who were evaluating the performance of the candidates: –

Business: Connect Hear
The team ConnectHear is determined to make differently-abled deaf people a productive part of society on a global level. Their app intends to bridge the gap between deaf community and society.
ConnectTV is an infotainment channel which provides sign language interpretation. Areej Al Medinah, the innovative entrepreneur behind the creative idea claims that the app has facilitated around 80,000 deaf people from 6o cities in a short time span of 10 months.
1st Runner Up: Anum Amad
Enent, co-founded by Anum Amal Siddiqi, is designed to increase life of electrical appliances as well as saving electricity bill. This portable system will decrease our negative environmental footprint in long-term and save costs on individual and global level.
This project is environmentally friendly as it does not cause pollution. The device named Intellica works out load balancing schedule and efficiently balances the current according to these schedules. According to Anum Amad, electricity bills can be reduced by up to 25% and the full initial investment of the appliance can be recovered in short time span of 5 to 6 months only.
2nd Runner Up: Sami Ullah
Business: Trip Mate
The tourism business is flourishing in Pakistan which is creating job and investment opportunities for people connected to the industry. Millions of local and in many foreign tourists are increasingly attracted by the aesthetic beauty of Pakistan. Samiullah, the co-founder of Tripmate has created an application for tourists.
Mr. Samiullah said that his team thoroughly checked all the applications already available for tourists in Google Play Store. They identified what important features are missing and made this amazing app on cater the needs of users. Trip Mate works online as well as offline. Users will be able to rate and leave their feedback for the restaurants and hotels situated on tourist destinations to help other tourists.
