Telenor Pakistan arranged another bloggers meet-up last Wednesday, this time on their CSR initiative ‘Karu Mumkin’. The aim of the event was to experience the idea with Telenor Pakistan’s Marketing and Communication team.
Telenor Pakistan has launched the ‘Karo Mumkin’ campaign with the aim to position itself as a leader in innovation, and provide the people of Pakistan with a platform for inspiration and realization of possibilities. The campaign is designed to showcase the vision of Telenor Pakistan which seeks to explore new business opportunities in telecommunications, financial services and media. The occasion also marks Telenor Pakistan’s 5th anniversary.
For a nation, there is no power as constructive as its people’s ideas and their courage to make a difference. Like Allama Iqbal has said;
At the time of launch of easypaisa, many people wanted a service they can host from their mobile phone. I see mobile accounts as the service that lets you do that. It is not any over the counter service like bill payments and money transfer but a virtual Bank Accounts opened for Telenor subscribers to access from their own mobile phones at any time.
Easypaisa gets ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for Information Security Management System (ISMS) for mobile banking services. The PR received from Telenor Pakistan give the details.
Telenor has extended its two step charging to USA and Canada. With this scheme calls are charged in two steps; regular call rates apply on the first step and after some specified duration discounted rates will apply.

A ‘Meet the Product’ bloggers session was arranged for the launch of Easypaisa Mobile Account yesterday evening. Around 30 bloggers from different arenas attended the event. The session was so full of energy that it not only remained meeting the Mobile Account but exploring its features, its reach to the unbanked and discussing the unmatched success of easypaisa in just four months from its launch.
We had recently talked about Telecordia facing a hard time for its entry in India and facing scrutiny by Indian government. As mentioned earlier, Telenor also had to go through this. The latest is that Telecordia will be getting entry on the same conditions entry Telenor was allowed. The excerpts of the news item from The Economic Times gives the details.
